Dear Fellow Entrepreneur,
This is an invitation...but it's NOT an ordinary invitation.
It was a cool, crisp autumn day when a small group of businessmen set out on a trip.
This wasn't the first excursion they had taken together, and it wouldn't be their last. In fact, this particular group met for 10 years straight to share ideas and have a few laughs.
Today, we would refer to this type of group as a "mastermind".
And this particular mastermind was powerful to say the least. Its members included:
- A rich and successful industrialist who brought rapid transit to the common man...
- A renowned naturalist and best-selling writer (who looked a bit like Rip Van Winkle)...
- The most famous inventor of all time, and...
- A sitting President of the United States of America
This group, who called themselves "The Vagabonds," was founded by Henry Ford and they met annually between 1914 and 1924... usually on extravagant camping trips accompanied by a 50-vehicle caravan.
Imagine what it must have been like to be seated under the stars with the likes of Thomas Edison, Harvey Firestone and Henry Ford as they shared chemical formulas, engineering ideas and wild and crazy new business models.
It must have been incredible.
Now, what if I told you that you don't have to merely imagine what it would be like?
What if a similar group existed today? One that YOU could actually be part of?
It's true...
I am a member of just such a group and this "strange invitation" is myself and our membership asking YOU to apply. We call our group the "War Room"...
Hi, my name is Ryan Deiss.
My "day job" is CEO of DigitalMarketer.com, but I also serve as Chairman of this group, which is truly "A Group Unlike Any Other..."
Young tech millionaires, venture capitalists, investors, media moguls and publishers, brilliant lawyers and seasoned CEO's are just a sample of what drives us. So if your goal is to always be the "dumbest person in the room," then this group just might be for you.
When ordinary invitations are sent out, it's the desire of the host that all who receive the invitation accept it and are able to attend. Not so with this invitation.
War Room is NOT for most, and frankly, some who apply are not accepted.
However, if you do manage to get in, you'll be able to call some of the best and brightest minds in the world of business your friends, and if you understand that success in life is less about what you know or even WHO you know...and more about WHO KNOWS YOU...
...then you'll like what you're about to see.
Out of the thousands of requests we receive each year, only a handful are accepted. You see, War Room is made up of only two groups of 100 entrepreneurs.
That's it.
100.
A paltry sum when you consider that near 500,000 subscribe to DigitalMarketer.com alone not to mention all who know and respect our co-founders Perry Belcher, Frank Kern, Roland Frasier and Richard Lindner.
Fact is many have heard legend of the War Room but most will ever even see this page. We never advertise this group to the public, so the fact that you're here is a bit odd. Not odd in a bad way...just odd. (And in this group, "odd" is a good thing. It certainly beats "ordinary.")
So if you are here, you were likely referred by an active member, our New Member Committee or someone on our Advisory Board. Either way, I'm glad you're here, and I hope you'll continue reading.
More importantly, I hope you'll apply to join our ranks...
War Room Mastermind is your best chance to work with the most brilliant successful business minds on Earth, share insider information and form partnerships and joint ventures that can last a lifetime. It was started in 2008 with four simple goals in mind:
1. To bring together the greatest business minds of this new, exciting economy to share strategies, offer advice and reveal what's working (and what's not working) in their businesses a few times each year.
2. To nurture business partnerships and joint ventures between all of us that increase the level of success and lifestyle of every person involved.
3. To create a support group of entrepreneurs, small business owners and marketing professionals who each intimately understand the struggles, challenges and joys of building a lasting enterprise, and one where no brother or sister is ever left behind.
4. To create a much-needed peer accountability group that holds each of its members accountable to achieving their highest station in life.
So far I think we have been pretty successful...
We may not have a Ford or an Edison quite yet, but we are, without a doubt, the best and brightest in the world when it comes to growing businesses using the latest and greatest strategies, hacks and tactics. (We have many members in the online space but we fuel offline, brick-and-mortar stuff, too, for what it's worth.)
Some of our members include:
The senior VP of marketing for one of the largest fitness companies in the world (you've not only heard of them... you've seen their products on TV)
The founder of two of the hottest SaaS startups in the testing and analytics space (chances are you use one or both of his solutions)
One of the most connected VCs in Silicon Valley (who also just happens to be a best-selling author)...
A former V.P. for PepsiCo (War Room isn't all about marketing... we also talk operations when appropriate)...
...along with a smattering of information publishers, investors and VCs, niche media magnates, brilliant lawyers (yes we allow a few) and a few seasoned CEO's.
Plus you get "us"...
In addition to powerful members and advisers, the founders of War Room are no slouches, either. Joining me in facilitating the meetings are my business partners Roland Frasier and Perry Belcher, along with the President of DigitalMarketer.com, Richard Lindner, and the highest-paid Internet direct-response copywriter and consultant, Frank Kern.
And let's not forget the in-house team at Digital Marketer who, in the last 36 months, has:
Invested over $15,000,000 (of our own money) on marketing tests...
Generated tens of millions of dollars in revenues...
Sent well over a BILLION permission-based emails, and...
Run approximately 3,000 split and multi-variant tests...
...all through our own companies.
You can look around, but I don't think you'll find a more powerful group anywhere at any price.
You certainly won't find a team like this working together to facilitate a single group. That's how passionate we are about War Room!
And that's why I'm hoping you'll join us...
Membership in War Room is "by invitation only," and it is only offered a few times each year. On average, we receive hundreds of requests to join, but applications are made available to relatively few, and even fewer of those applications are accepted.
So with that in mind, here are some things to consider before you apply:
War Room has a strict no assholes policy. If you are negative or scarcity-minded, you will be removed from this group. We like a good joke. We eat well, we drink well and we enjoy the finer things in life, however, at the end of the day this is a business group, and if you take more than you give, you will be asked to leave.
Owners and top-level executives of established businesses as well as founders of funded startups are invited to join. If your business is still in "idea mode" and it isn't yet capable of producing an ROI on your membership, however, please do not apply.
There's almost NO challenge in your business that your War Room members can't solve (and usually in just a few minutes), but you won't get maximum value unless you're willing to be totally transparent. In other words, pride and posturing has no place in War Room.
War Room will show you what VIP really means. Successful people do successful things.
We stay at great hotels, we dine at the finest restaurants and we indulge.
War Room will give you a chance to really TASTE success, and learn how to live a success filled life, but if you're the kind of person who never picks up a tab, then this probably isn't the right group for you.
One War Room connection could easily be the missing link between you and unimaginable success.
What if Wozniak never met Jobs? Would there be an Apple today? Who will you meet this year? What partnerships will you form what will you create?
That's why, to be in War Room, you need to keep an open mind. Your next multi-million-dollar business development deal could be sitting across the table from you, but you'll never know unless you ask good questions and forge real relationships.
If you're still reading this letter then it's safe to assume that you're interested in joining our group, so let's talk about what it's like to be in War Room.
The "gatherings" are the core benefit of your War Room membership.
We meet 4 times per year (once per quarter). While you are not required or even expected to attend every meeting, we do ask that you attend at least 3 during your 12-month membership.
At these meetings you'll get focused strategy time to actually work ON your business instead of working IN your business, distraction FREE.
Think about how much you can accomplish in a two-day meeting, free from employees and interruptions!
Oh I almost forgot... No untested theories are allowed!
We don't just sit around talking about untested theories, War Roomers are the "real people" who are in the trenches running multi-million dollar businesses every single day.
Every War Room member is REQUIRED to share their victories as well as their embarrassing failures in great detail. You have to be willing to share. If this bothers you, please don't apply.
More importantly, you must be willing to EXECUTE on the amazing ideas you hear, if not, please don't apply.
One great idea executed is worth 1000 ordinary ones. Executing on a single strategy from War Room can return your entire year's investment in a moment, and to hear most members tell it, this happened dozens of times during EVERY single meeting.
The opportunities are right in front of you for the taking, so you and your staff can carbon copy the success of your peers, and achieve much higher levels of success.
But don't worry...War Room isn't all work. We also know how to have a good time, as you'll soon see...
Of course, there is more to membership than just the gatherings. As a member, you'll also receive the following benefits:
Quarterly Meetings
(Value - $20000)
We meet 4 times per year! At these meetings you'll get focused strategy time to actually work ON your business instead of working IN your business, distraction FREE. Think about how much you can accomplish in a two-day meeting, free from employees and interruptions!
Five Emergency One-On-One Calls
(Value - $5000)
We don't do one-on-one consulting any longer, but we do carve out time for War Room members when they really need to talk to one of us. So as a member, you'll be allowed to schedule up to five (5) 30-minute calls with a War Room Officer (either Ryan Deiss, Frank Kern, Perry Belcher, Roland Frasier or Richard Lindner) when you need them.
War Room Private Message Board
(Value - $10,000)
This is a member favorite, because this is where you can get damn near any question answered almost immediately by a War Room officer, adviser or a fellow member. This level of access is so prized, that we've received offers of $10,000 just for access to this online group.
World Profiteering Expeditions
(Value - Priceless)
China, Australia, The Philippines, Vietnam, Singapore...let's just say we do business in A LOT of places around the globe. And as a War Room member, you will be invited to join us on these trips so you can learn first-hand about new opportunities. (NOTE: These tours aren't all work...there's plenty of time for sightseeing, fantastic food and exciting adventures, too!)
Early Access & Insights
(Value - Priceless)
At Digital Marketer, we're known for figuring out new, and innovative strategies long before anyone else. Some of these strategies we discuss publicly, but our best discoveries never see the light of day. The only exception we make is War Room. As a War Room member, you'll see it all. Better yet, you'll see it before anyone else sees it, giving you a MASSIVE advantage over your competition.
Intimate connection to otherwise inaccessible players
(Value - Priceless)
If you asked me to name my single most valuable business asset, it wouldn't be a website, or product, or email list. It wouldn't be a patent, trademark or copyright. All those things are great, but my single most valuable business asset...the one that's made me the most money and the one that would be the most impossible to replace, is my relationships. As a War Room member, you'll tap into this same network. You'll become friends with some of the wealthiest, most powerful active business minds in the industry today, and you'll have access like you've never had before.
Member Services Concierge
(Value - Priceless)
Need information on a specific topic? Need a vendor referral or help tracking someone down? Or maybe you'd just like help opening a new merchant account, or you'd like to have someone review a joint venture proposal or business deal before you sign on the dotted line? Whatever your need, we're here to help.
Merchant account review (so you can know if you're paying too much).
Event help and contract negotiation (we have a full events team on staff, and while they can't manage your event for free, they can give you location tips and help negotiate better contracts than you would get if you went on your own.)
Access to our import agent (so you can get the best deal if you're bringing in product from China or practically anywhere else in Asia.)
Product warehousing and fulfillment (we have a massive fulfillment center, and we're happy to let War Room members take advantage of this resource at our cost.)
Traffic campaign review (Are your cost-per-clicks higher than they should be? Let our traffic team take a look and see if we can plug some holes in your bucket.)
Deal review (We aren't attorneys, but we have done a lot of business deals and we can point out potential pitfalls and opportunities that an attorney might miss.)
Mail house services (Just like our fulfillment center, we're happy to let you use our mailing house at our cost.)
Discounted email services (We spend a fortune on email services every month, so we're happy to let War Room members "piggy back" on our volume to lower their monthly email costs...)
Competitive intelligence tools (We spend tens of thousands of dollars a month on intelligences tools such as Compete.com, AdBeat.com, SimilarWeb.com and Who's Mailing What, and while we can't give you access to our accounts, we'd be happy to pull a report for you from time to time...)
Video studio in Los Angeles (We own our own production studio in Los Angeles, CA. While it's not available for the public to use, we will allow War Room members to utilize the facilities at cost.)
NOTE: Used wisely, this one member benefit can easily pay for entire War Room membership.
Accountability
(Value - Priceless)
The group will hold your feet to the fire. If you commit to a plan at one meeting, you will be held accountable to that plan at the next. And heaven help you if fail to do what you said you would do. War Room members are brutally honest (as real friends are) and they can smell B.S. a mile away. Just know, however, that they always have your best interest at heart.
Golden Ticket
(Value - $10,000+)
As a War Room member, you get free VIP access to all our events and live trainings like Traffic & Conversion Summit and Content & Commerce. Most importantly...
Digital Marketer Headquarters
(Value - Priceless)
You'll finally have a HOME...literally. Anytime you're in the Austin, TX area, be sure to stop by the Digital Marketer headquarters to meet the team or just "hang out" and see how we run our business. This is truly unprecedented access.
As you can see, membership definitely has its benefits. But to ensure our members are protected, there are also a few rules you must abide by...
All information shared during War Room is strictly confidential and intended for member use only. Sharing confidential information (other than with your staff for use inside your own business) is strictly prohibited. You can't come to War Room, learn cool stuff and then go teach it or sell a course on it. Any member who shares confidential meeting information or details about a fellow member's business will be terminated and their dues WILL NOT be refunded.
You may bring ONE (and only ONE) guest to the meeting with you, assuming that person is a business partner in your core business and/or a spouse.
War Room is for owners, founders, C-Suite executives and high-level employees and business professionals. You cannot send a lower-level employee in your place who doesn't fit into one of those five categories. This group is designed for top-level executives and business owners ONLY!
Business partnerships between members is encouraged, but duplication of other members' complete business models without permission will result in your membership being terminated. We're very serious about this. The group does not take kindly to theft (which is what this is), and we will do what we have to do to protect our members and the sanctity of this group.
Membership decisions are made by the officers and advisers on a case-by-case basis based on four major criteria:
If selected, annual dues are $30,000 ($25,000 if paid in one lump sum.)
This investment is non-negotiable (although a payment option is available). And frankly, if it seems expensive or out of reach, that's probably a good sign that you're not a good fit for this group.
That may sound harsh, but think about it...
If you have an active business, you waste way more than that on dumb employees you don't need and mistakes that go unfixed. And that's just the stuff you know about! Throw in the opportunity cost and growth potential, and the dues become a total no-brainer.
Face it: Idealistic theories and incompetent employees are useless. You need proven actionable systems to grow your business.
You can develop these yourself, but what will it cost you in valuable time, lost opportunity and lost profits. That's an expensive learning curve... right?
So now I have a question for you...
If you're reading this page and the APPLY NOW button is still active, then we are in our open enrollment period, but time is short and we can't hold seats while you dilly-dally.
Plus, our next meeting is coming up very soon, so we need to get the ball rolling.
No hard feelings if you can't join us right now, but if you're on the fence I highly recommend you apply and see what happens.
Even if you don't get in, at least we'll know who you are and a little more about your business, and I promise we'll do what we can to help you out and point you in the right direction.
The way we see it, it's the least we can do if someone has the patience to read this far and the guts to request and fill out the application.
But at the end of the day, there's only one way to find out...you gotta fill out and turn in the application.
There's No Obligation To Join If You Apply.
If you are accepted, you will be contacted by someone from our office within a few business days.
There are two ways to apply.
If by chance you DO you make it into War Room, it will likely change your business life forever, and you might change mine.
I look forward to that.
Sincerely,
Ryan Deiss
Chairman, War Room
P.S. Have you ever heard the expression, "Knowledge is Power?"
I disagree.
Knowledge is handy...but knowledge alone is not power.
As the old adage goes, true power comes not from what you know...but from who you know. (Or more importantly...who knows YOU!)
The biggest breakthroughs come when knowledge is combined with connections, and that's exactly what War Room is all about: Knowledge + Connections.
Frequently Asked Questions...
When and where are the meetings?
Meetings are held three times a year in different parts of the U.S.. This year, the meetings will be held...
Q1 Meeting: (Las Vegas, NV)
Q2 Meeting: (Beverly Hills, CA)
Q3 Meeting: (Newport Beach, CA)
Q4 Meeting: (Austin, TX)
Meetings start at 9:00am and go until at least 5:00pm, so members should plan to arrive the day before and fly out the day after the meeting.
How many members are in War Room?
War Room is made up of two groups (capped at) 100 companies each, so the member to principle ratio is just 20:1 so you have all of us for as much as you need us.
Also, War Room is all about sharing ideas, and if each member presents just ONE AMAZING IDEA a year you'll have 100 amazing ideas you can select from to implement in your own business. Any one idea could literally double or TRIPLE your business in 12 months, and you'll have hundreds to choose from!
How do I know if I'm eligible to be a member?
As a general rule, your company must at least be run-rating $1,000,000 in revenues to be eligible for membership, but we do make exceptions for members who bring a specific skill or expertise that we feel will benefit the entire group.
We also make exceptions for well-funded startups with experienced teams that are in the high-growth stage of business but aren't yet generating significant revenues.
To put it simply, if your company is active and growing and you personally have something to add to the group, then we would love for you to apply.
How long will it take to find out if I am accepted?
Applications are typically reviewed the day they are received, but please allow up to 7 business days for approval because new applicants must be approved by all 5 principals (Ryan, Perry, Frank, Roland and Richard) as well as any active members who may be considered "competitive" in any way to the applicant.
Applications turned in at events like Traffic & Conversion Summit are usually reviewed at the event.
Do you allow direct competitors? I don't want someone stealing my best ideas...
As a policy, we do consult with current members prior to approving any new members who might be considered a direct competitor. But believe it or not, most members like the idea of having "competitors" as fellow members. It doesn't work in every market, but for most industries "cooperation" is preferred over competition, and when members in the same industry share ideas and help one another they can create a tide that rises all ships.
That said, we do have a strict confidentiality policy in War Room, and any member caught sharing ideas or using the ideas they've received from War Room inappropriately will be kicked out of the group, and their dues will NOT be refunded.
My company is very successful but we aren't strong in digital marketing? Can I still apply?
ABSOLUTELY! War Room is about growing BUSINESSES. Period.
Online...offline...product-based...service-based...literally any business can benefit from being in War Room and our members benefit from having colleagues with a diverse set of skills.
So whether you're a hot-shot Internet wiz-kid with SEO secrets whispered to you from God himself, or whether you're a seasoned veteran with experience running "real" brick and mortar businesses (but who can barely spell FTP and doesn't have a clue what it stands for)... we'd love for you to apply.
Business is business...let's help one another grow and get better at ALL aspects of business.
Remember, there are two ways to apply.
